Associate Director – Welfare Reform

Jo has been a Welfare Reform and a Housing consultant for over 20 years. Jo has a wide range of experience of service delivery for the example, undertaking services reviews of supported accommodation, developing welfare rights services and assessing the impacts of welfare reform on supported housing rent and service charges. Jo has advised government departments, including CLG, DWP and DoH on policy development and producing guidance for implementation. Jo has worked with a diverse range of housing providers including large city councils, small districts, large and small RSLS and charitable organisations. This work includes strategy development, rent and service charge reviews, advice service reviews and implementation of national policy.

Jo has an MSc in Social Research and has undertaken a range of research projects including the effects of the bedroom tax on those over 50 with long term health issues; the role of tenure secure accommodation, priority and prolific offenders and recidivism; the cost benefits of handypersons services.
